“I’m seeing a lot of these geeky, nerdy kids and the teachers (away from the tech areas) don’t know what to do with these kids,” she says in her 2010 TED talk. “You have to teach them how to do different things.”

Temple looks into the different kinds of minds, including:

  • Pattern Thinkers: children who turn into mathematicians, software engineers, computer programmers.
  • Verbal Mind: these are the journalists and good stage actors.
  • Photo Realistic Visual Thinkers: these are the graphic designers, photographers and industrial designers.
